About

Sam Chan

I am Sam. I’m the VP of Programs at Launch Academy, a tech incubator in Vancouver that’s been helping founders build and scale since 2012. Over the past decade, I’ve worked with thousands of entrepreneurs from 35+ countries, helped move over 100 founders and their families to Canada, and watched those companies collectively raise over $2.5 billion.

I’m also building buildrs.dev — a community directory that makes the builders who actually show up visible. It’s the product arm of what Launch is becoming.

I’m not a developer but through curiosity and a willingness to tinker, I’ve to direct AI tools to build products. My workflow runs through Claude, Claude Code, and a stack you can see on the /stuff page.

I have a shoe addiction that turned me into a runner. I’ve done three half marathons and I don’t know why.

I’m a shooting guard who wears size 8.5 and shoots 28% from the three-point line.

I’m happily married and proudly reside in Vancouver with my wife, dog, and young son.

I’m a Christ-follower. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

I muse about all these topics from time to time on this site. Thanks for stopping by.
